Ordering & Custom Artwork
Don't see what you're looking for?
Ask us. What's on the site is what we stock — it isn't the limit of what we can do. A different tumbler, a bag, a jacket, a whole run of something for your team. If you can describe it, we'll source it and make it.
Send us a message and tell us what you're after.
What's the difference between laser engraving and UV printing?
Engraving cuts into the material itself, so the mark can't wear off. It's a single tone — whatever color the material turns when you burn it. On certain wood and acrylic we can paint fill the engraving to add color, made to order as part of the design.
UV printing lays ink on the surface and cures it instantly. It's essentially permanent — full color, photographs, logos with gradients. Raised texture you can feel is an option too.
A note on food surfaces: UV printing isn't food safe, and engraving a food surface can reduce food safety too. Ask us if you're unsure.
Is there a minimum order?
One or five hundred — we've got you covered. No minimum on most of what we make, unless a product says otherwise.
Need a purchase order, an invoice, or net terms?
Not a problem — message us. We work with police departments, city offices, schools and businesses, and we're used to purchasing processes. Tell us what your finance office needs and we'll set the order up that way.
Do you offer wholesale or volume pricing?
Buying for a team, a client list, or a whole event? The price per piece comes down as the quantity goes up — automatically, no minimum, nothing to apply for. Tell us what you're working with and we'll help the budget go further.
How far it goes depends on the item. Smaller engraved pieces like hat clips, bag tags and bookmarks reach their best price at 24. Larger pieces like cutting boards and cheese sets take longer to make, so they settle in sooner.
Reselling in a shop? That works — the volume price is your cost, and it's the same price for everyone. If you're ordering regularly, or you need something past the published tiers, message us and we'll set up an account rate.
Can I use a discount code with volume pricing?
Checkout keeps whichever one saves you more — they don't stack. Volume pricing applies on its own as you add quantity, so on a larger order that's usually the better deal and there's nothing for you to do. On a smaller order, the code usually wins.
Same goes for an account rate, if we've set one up for you. Either way, you get the lower price.
Do you charge a setup fee?
No. No setup fee, no art fee, and two rounds of revisions are included on every order.
Send your artwork as an SVG or a high-resolution PNG and we're good to go. If a design has to be redrawn or rebuilt from scratch, we'll quote that before we start — nothing gets added to your total without your say-so.
What file formats do you accept for custom engraving?
SVG or PNG work best. Other file types may need conversion first, which can add a little time to your order — there's no extra charge for basic file setup.
Will I see a proof before you start engraving?
Yes. For custom orders we send a digital proof for your approval before production begins — please double-check spelling and design details at that stage, since changes aren't possible once production starts.
How long does an order take?
Custom and volume orders typically take 3–10 business days to produce, separate from shipping time. Need it by a specific date? Message us and we'll do what we can.
Can I upload a logo, photo, or design that isn't mine?
You're responsible for having the rights to anything you upload — a logo, a photo of a person, a design you found online, etc. Full details are in our Custom File Use & Ownership Policy.
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship?
Within the United States only, for now.
Do you deliver?
Free local delivery, no minimum — all of Solano County, plus parts of Napa, Contra Costa and Yolo.
Choose Local Delivery at checkout and if you're in the area, it'll be there. Anywhere else in the country, we ship.
Can I pick up instead?
Of course. Message us when you order and we'll sort out a time. We're in Vacaville.
Can I stop by your shop?
We're in Vacaville and we work by appointment — there's no storefront to walk into. Message us and we'll find a time.
Most orders never need one. If you'd rather see a sample in person or drop off materials, just ask.
How much does shipping cost?
It's calculated at checkout based on the carrier and speed you pick.
My order arrived damaged or wrong — what do I do?
Email support@solanolasercraft.com within 5 days of delivery with your order number and photos, and we'll make it right.
Returns & Cancellations
Can I return a custom or personalized item?
Custom items are final sale once production starts — that's exactly why we send a proof for your approval first. If something arrives damaged or doesn't match your approved proof, see the shipping question above.
I need to cancel or change my order.
Reach out within 24 hours of placing your order, before production begins. We often start sourcing materials right away, so we can't guarantee changes after that window.
Do you accept returns on non-custom, ready-made items?
Yes — within 5 days of delivery, as long as the item is unused and in its original packaging.
Caring for Your Item
How do I care for an engraved wood item (cutting boards, ornaments, coasters)?
Mild soap and warm water, hand wash only — skip the dishwasher, soaking, and the microwave. An occasional coat of food-safe mineral oil helps prevent cracking on boards that see regular use.
Any UV-printed area is not food safe — that applies to a printed board the same as a printed cup. Ask us if a design needs to sit near a food or drinking surface.
Are the engraved or UV-printed tumblers and water bottles dishwasher safe?
Mild soap and warm water, hand wash only — the dishwasher and abrasive cleaners will dull the engraving, the print and the finish.

Are the 3D printed items (soap holders, pencil holders, etc.) dishwasher safe?
No — mild soap and warm water, hand wash only. These are printed in PLA, which softens with heat, so a dishwasher will warp them. They're decorative and functional pieces rather than food-contact items.
Privacy & Your Data
Will my project show up on your social media?
Probably — we love showing off what comes off the laser. When you order a custom piece, you're giving us the OK to photograph the finished product and share it in our gallery, on social media, and in our marketing.
Rather we didn't? Just tell us when you order and we'll keep it between us.
What do you do with the files and personal info I share?
We only use your uploaded files and personal information to produce, ship, and support your order — we never sell your information. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Do you use tracking cookies or advertising pixels on the site?
Yes, a few. Our store uses cookies to keep your cart and remember your preferences, plus Shopify's built-in analytics. We also have a Pinterest advertising pixel, which reports activity on our site back to Pinterest so we can measure our advertising there, and Judge.me, which powers our product reviews. We don't have Google Ads, Google Analytics, or a Meta/Facebook pixel connected. You can opt out of data sharing for targeted advertising through the Your Privacy Choices link in our footer.
